This comic was published in 2018 with the Sydney Comic Guild Food Anthology. In a way as I re-edit this post, this reminds me of (and was probably inspired by) Satoshi Kun’s animation short, “Ohayo”. I remember I was obsessed with a YouTube Channel called “Every Frame a Painting” : “… a series of video essays about film form, made from April 2014 to September 2016, by Taylor Ramos and Tony Zhou…”
It was through their channel that I was introduced to Satoshi Kun and the way he edited space and time. From there, I realized that even in sequential art; the framing and blocking of the scenes can have innovations that mirror film styles. For the “Morning Evolutions”, the transitions between scenes were quirky and experimental to connote the feel of time not really being definite as if still awakening.
