Animation Video – Reflections made April 17, 2022.

I love animation, but I fail to have the patience to make the in-between sketches to make it smooth. Nevertheless, I still like the idea of images moving so I have made mini stop-motion clips with my drawings. This one was inspired by Ze Frank, an online personality who is known for his mockumentary series “True Facts” and for posting other videos that have surprisingly reflective topics. Two videos in particular that resonate with me are, “Why Trust is Worth It“, and “If You Are In a Shell“. Between those videos and my own musings, I decided to make my own video. I drew the in-between sketches based on a travel video that I saw years back where the person was staring into the clear sky. From there, I recorded the pictures in short bursts so that I could splice the clips together for a smooth video. Though rudimentary at best, I wanted to convey an pensive mood to the audience through my voiceover and the music chosen. The choice in imagery too was to continue that feeling of reflection and making peace with everything one has gone through. I would suggest watching the video by pressing F11 on the keyboard.

Captions: Life can hit you really hard. And it feels like you are alone. But you have to remember that at the end of the day, the one thing that should keep you going is that none of this is forever. And one day you will have a moment, when you can look back and realize “I made it.” The sky’s clear and everything is going to be ok and it will be ok/ You just have to hold on and believe it. So keep believing.
